Top Tips:
Transportation: Rent a moped! Very cheap mode of transportation. We spent about $45 for a week of rental. You could spend a lot of time just sitting in traffic if you take a taxi or rent a car to get around.

Animals: Riding the elephants is frowned upon even though it is offered as a "tourism attraction." We opted to just visit, feed, play, and bathe with them instead, which was also a blast. Also, do not miss the opportunity to go to Tiger Kingdom!

Food: Very cheap! We spent an estimate of $150 for the entire week!

Accommodation: Villas are cheap, but you will have to pay for your own electricity usage. Still cheap, just remember to cut your A/C off when you leave your villa.

Sunscreen is a must in the summer!

Last tip: Fly Emirates or something of that caliber. Watch the layover times as well, if your layover is an hour or less, the airlines can not possibly transfer your luggage in time, which resulted in my luggage arriving 2 days after I arrived. It was delivered to my villa free of charge and I was given a small compensation, however did not have clothes and had to go shopping (shopping is always good though).
